RIYADH: Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, president of the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), has reviewed the operations of the authority’s technical teams at 11 airports across seven countries as part of the Makkah Route Initiative.
The initiative, led by the Ministry of Interior under the Pilgrim Experience Program, one of the key components of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 aims to streamline the travel process for pilgrims.
During a virtual meeting with SDAIA teams involved in this year’s initiative, Al-Ghamdi emphasized the importance of enhancing services for pilgrims and urged increased efforts to ensure the program's success.
He also assessed the preparedness of technical personnel and the integration of digital services to facilitate a smooth Hajj journey.
This included reviewing fixed and mobile airport workstations, outfitted with advanced digital tools and efficient biometric registration systems deployed in pilgrims' countries of origin.
